TOEFL® - Test of English as a Foreign

Most American colleges
and universities, including the University of South Carolina (USC) require international students to take the TOEFL. The regular curriculum of the English Programs for Internationals (EPI) includes TOEFL preparation in all classes. In addition, EPI offers an additional TOEFL preparation class and administers the Institutional TOEFL (paper-based test) each term for an additional fee.
EPI students who successfully complete EPI's top level (6) are not required to take the TOEFL for admission to undergraduate degree programs at the University of South Carolina.
SAT® Program The SAT is a test that is required at some American colleges and universities for undergraduate students. The SAT is not required for international students applying to the University of South Carolina.
GRE® - Graduate Record Examinations® The GRE is an entrance examination that is required at most American universities for admission to graduate degree programs. EPI offers a GRE test preparation course that students can take as an additional course.
GMAT® - The Graduate Management Admission Test® The GMAT is an entrance examination required at most American universities for students seeking admission to graduate degree programs in business. USC offers a GMAT preparation course.
The USC Testing Office, located in the Russell House, administers year-round computer-based GRE and iBT TOEFL examinations by appointment.
