Dr. Alexandra Rowe, Lead Instructor
Having taught for more than thirty years, Alexandra is an internationally recognized ESL professional/teacher trainer. She directs the University of South Carolina’s intensive English program, English Programs for Internationals, and serves as the lead TESOL expert on the USC Linguistics faculty.
Dr. William E. Rivers, Guest Instructor
Professor of English in USC’s Department of English, Bill is department head and regularly provides teacher training and consultancy in business and technical writing, as well as freshman composition. He has a well established national reputation in rhetoric and composition, as well as eighteenth century British literature. He is also experienced in working with foreign English teachers.
Lynne Voit, Assistant Instructor 
Lynne spent the first half of her professional career in corporate marketing and training as a writer and editor. She next switched to the academic profession to put her BA and MA degrees in English literature to work in teaching English—business, technical, composition. Then, she added ESL certification and switched again, this time to the ESL classroom.
Karen Porter, Assistant Instructor 
Having a Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Master's in TESL, Karen has taught eight years in the English Programs for Internationals at the University of South Carolina. Prior to this she worked five years for the corporate headquarters of Honeywell in their management training program and then in their information systems department as a project manager and technical writer. Additional experience includes instructing university English professors in Ecuador and also interning with the government-owned telecommunications organization in Finland in their marketing department and with Ford Motor company in Belgium in their accounting department.
Susan Toler, Assistant Instructor 
With several years of university level ESL teaching experience, Susan is currently teaching at English Programs for Internationals at the University of South Carolina. Her overseas experience includes teaching business English for insurance professionals in Spain. She also has experience with English language teacher training.
Timothy Stewart, Technical Support
Possessing expertise in both ESL and computer technology, Mr. Stewart became deeply involved in computer-assisted/supported instruction from its early iterations and has presented nationally and internationally on this issue. In his position at EPI, he nurtured use of technology throughout the program so that now EPI has three computer classrooms with a total of 56 student workstations.
Sherry Warren, Program Assistant 
Sherry has been a teacher for the past ten years in a variety of contexts. She served as special educational needs coordinator in a preparatory school in London for four years. She has been teaching English abroad for the past two years, in China and Thailand. She earned the CELTA certificate while living in Bangkok and is studying in the Linguistics MA program at USC.
